Brooklyn, Revamped

This was an image of a sign I saw, written in Spanish. The black and white contrast was incredibly bold. I wanted to emphasize that, and play with line direction in order to convey a dramatic, yet simplistic message. The "NO" in the center represents the austerity featured in much of New York's attitude.
At first glance, I was obsessed with the texture and the contrast of this wall. It looks distressed and weathered and there's something very striking about it. I really just wanted to focus on the peeling paper, the splattered paint, and the imperfections that made it so impactful.
